Network Sizes
PAN - This stands for Personal Area Network and it can cover less than 10 metres.... which is roughly 30 feet. This can be used to communicate between personal devices like your mobile phones or even your IPads.
LAN - This stands for Local Area Network. Small LAN's can only be used by computers but with a big LAN, it can cover thousands.
MAN - This stands for Metropolitan Area Network. This is larger than a LAN but is definitely smaller than a WAN.
WAN - This stands for Wide Area Network. The size of this network is limited because of it's size and distance.
